Soft tissue punch

1. A second surgical procedure is unnecessary, thereby preventing additional patient discomfort.
2. Implants are not submerged at the time of placement.
3. Implants are not protected during the early phase of healing after placement, particularly for patients with poor bone quality and/or low primary implant stability.
4. Soft tissue mature while tht bone interface is healing.
5. There exists the risk of loading during initial healing.
6. The soft tissue punch removes some of the keratinized mucosa.

Mini-Incision

1. Implants can be either submerged or nonsubmerged the time of implant placement.
2. The mini-incision can help to save the keratinized mucosa.
3. The submerhed mini-incision procedure may result in less crestal bone loss during the early phase of healing after implant placement.
